Help what to do with firmware in Android 2.3 ??

hai,
As my tab is not able to unlock with pattern,the company suggested that i'm able to do something with firmware of the tab.Really i'm new to this & don't know how to install this firmare (370mb zip file) ,which i had downloaded from company website.Anybody has idea what to do with it ??

Sometimes to apply a firmware zip is using the device's recovery and an SD card, other devices you might have to use a PC, with a manufacturer's firmware update tool running on that. But you'll have to check what is the correct procedure for this particular tablet, and be 100% sure that it is the correct firmware for your tablet, because if it isn't it will brick very likely.
