whats going on with my battery??

I need help!...I've had my andriod for about 2 months now and there has been three times now that i have picked up my phone a few hours after i last used it and the battery is almost totally dead. It was full when i set it down 2-3 hours earlier. Also, if i turn it off and back on, or plug it into the charger just for a second, the battery life goes back to where it was. Why does it do this? It it something bad?

First of all, wrong forum. Second, please provide more information, such as what type of phone you are using, are you using a stock charger, etc...I'm sure a Mod will move it for ya though
