Help whats wrong with my phone/battery

So, i have a samsung galaxy exhibit. I've had it since July 2014. I've had no issues until tuesday. First issue that arose on tuesday was that my charger only worked in a certain position. I didnt mind this too much. Then, tuesday night i turned it off, plugged the charger in and slept. when i woke up thursday morning, i had 72% battery despite having a 100 at 3 am or so, it lost 28% in 3 hours when i woke up at 6 am. Then i turned it off until i got home from school around 4 and charged it in the required position and it charges to 100 and stays at 100 while turned o. Thursday night, when it was at 100% charge, i turned it completely off. I woke up, and it lost 25% battery power while turned off. Whats going on here? is my battery screwed or is it my phone itself?

Hi

I don't know, but my guess is that there some dirt/moisture in the connector port of your phone. Use a lamp, strong magnifying glass and a soft brush (such as a lens cleaning brush or modelling paint brush) and clean out the slot as best you can. This worked with my wife's phone which was becoming very temperamental about charging. (Do not poke anything metallic/electrically conductive or put any moisture in the port.)
