Whatsapp messages delayed

Hi!

I have a Samsung galaxy s4 and I have a problem with Whatsapp.
I'm getting the messages 5 or 10 mins delayed and when i open whatsapp it takes time to see the last seen bar. it's only happening when i have wifi on but 3G or 4G it's working fine. there is no problems with the modem, I have 50-100 mbps so i don't know why the whatsapp is doing like that. so please help me if you know anything how to fix this problem! :(

Sometimes it happened to me too. Today in school, there was a spread of a meme of someone in my class. I turned on my mobile data and it took me nearly 5 minutes to received the picture via WhatsApp. Some of my friends had the same problem and asked whether he missed them out on the recipient list. I believed it could either be the mobile carrier, or the app itself.

I think the app itself i'm not sure, but other apps working fine just whatsapp it's something wrong! I hope there is a new update to the app.

HMMMM.....

I have a GS3 and I have been having problems since yesterday that photos from my gallery cannot be sent on WhatsApp. Nor are the photos people send me being downloaded (I get a thumbnail but if I click do accept download, I get an error that they cannot be downloaded right now).

This is the first issue I've ever had with WhatsApp. Because you're having problems with delays, I wonder if there is an app problem.

I've tried uninstalling, rebooting, deleting the WhatsApp file folder, reinstalling etc. but no change.

I really don't feel like going through the hassle of a factory reset just to see if that might solve the problem. Too much time downloading and reinstalling apps, getting the screens and folders setup etc.

I'm going to deal with this for now and hope it is a bug. Photos seem to be sending no problem for every other way I've tried sending (email, upload to dropbox etc).

Nowadays, me and my friends use this app called line. Kind of like a WhatsApp clone, but it allows you to play games with your friends and also call them all for free! So far so good. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I don't run into any major issues using it.

I use viber for calling but will check out line too. :) btw haven't had a problem with whatsapp messages being delayed though

I used viber before but I just hate the outlook of the app. Also, not a lot of my friends are using it which makes it a useless app to have in my phone.

Did anybody find a solution for this? I have a stock i9505 Galaxy S4, no root, nothing special. WhatsApp messages are not received, until I actually open the app, then the messages come through and senders see the second tick.

I have:
- un-installed and re-installed WhatsApp
- cleared the WhatsApp database (re-install without restoring the message beackup)
- cleared all app preferences
- factory rest my Galaxy S4

All to no avail. I see many people having problems, but I see no solutions so far. On the WhatsApp website I read ridiculous advise such as "make sure you have a strong internet connection".
