WhatsApp names lost

I have lost all of the names in my WhatsApp, by last backup did not complete properly, is there any way of getting back the names of connections in WhatsApp rather than showing their phone numbers.

It should be taking the names from your contacts list, so the first thing I'd do is make sure it still has permission to access contacts (if that got turned-off accidentally it could produce this effect).

I guess you've tried obvious things like rebooting the phone, clearing the app's cache?

Again you should check that WhatsApp has allowed the permissions to access contacts by going to Settings > Apps & notifications > WhatsApp > Permissions.
