Help Whatsapp notification

Whenever a new whatsapp message comes into my Samsung Note 8, there will be a about 2 second popup near the top of my phone showing me a row of the new whatsapp text. I want to disable this but unable to do so.

If unable to disable the whatsapp popup, I would like the popup not to display any info, only something like "new whatsapp message received"

Please help. Thanks.

Why are you unable? :thinking:

In your WA settings, don't you have these choices?:

It's always worked for me. I'm stumped as to why it's not working for you. :thinking:

Have you checked its System Settings? Maybe there's something there contradicting the settings within the app.

You can try clearing its cache, but I doubt that will help.

A more dramatic step would be to clear its cache and data, and even uninstall/reinstall it. But you'd have to set everything up again--and there's no guarantee it would solve the problem.

From my own experience, some apps just inexplicably don't follow their notification settings. For me, it's Venmo. Nothing I've tried has made it work on this device. It sends me alerts via e-mail and text, as directed, but never as a notification on this phone. I finally gave up trying to solve it!
