Whatsapp random call

Hey folks,

I have just received a phone call over whatsapp from an unknown number.

When answering I could just hear a normal family chatting at the dinner table.

Nobody was aware about the call happening, so I just said 'hello?' for two times and hung up.

Calling the number just resulted in nobody taking up the call.

This has never happened to me before and the strangest part is that the whatsapp account appears as last seen for about 10 days ago.

I have recently installed adguard with it's certificates and nothing else coming outside the android app store.

What do you think about this?

As I have read, there have been attacks like this a few years ago and whatsapp is said to have that specific weakspot sorted out by updates.

Might my android Samsung be compromised from this single call?

Again, a plain simple family talking at the dinner table.

Hope someone can help with this.

Devices cannot get compromised by a phone call, period.
You most likely got a butt dial from a Whatsapp user who didn't even know the call was sent to you.
Happens all the time

How can somebody buttdial a stranger, through whatsapp and appear as 'last seen' for about 14 days ago?

I mean, I do understand your point, but still...

I assume that there is compromised activity on that persons phone and there have been well known cases where accounts were hacked by simple whatsapp calls that haven't even been picked up by the users in case.

So that user that made a call to you, unaware, probably doesn't know HIS account is compromised also.
I never used whatsapp so I can't help further about the issue.
Maybe someone else in the forums can pipe in.
