Whatsapp to share users data and send ads

pewe

Newbie
Whatsapp have apparently changed their terms and conditions to allow them to share phone numbers of users with Facebook, and to allow ads to be sent to users.

They say that you can opt out - see this page https://www.whatsapp.com/faq/en/general/26000016 - but that option does not appear in my Whatsapp settings.

Does it appear in the settings section of any users out there???

Go to
Settings
About and help
Terms&privacy policy

It's there

Not on any of our 4 phones it's not.
Tapping 'Terms&Privacy Policy' opens a web page on their site.

According to their site it should be in the Settings/Account page but there's still no option to opt out there.

Also - I notice that they updated the app on 16th August - but I don't remember seeing a notification in the update about changes to their terms when the update installed.

I have it in my settings/account page. It also says that if I change the setting , I won't be able to change it back!
