I have installed whatsapp and a sms is sent to me for verification when I open the app for the first time. I did not verify anything yet. I can use whatsapp already without verifying anything, and without using any info in the sms.

What does verifying do?

Verifying is the confirmation code of Whatsapp that if you verify it, Whatsapp will add your contact to Contacts.

What does verifying do?

I believe WhatsApp is actually linked to a phone number rather than the device itself. So if you didn't need to verify the number, it's probably because you already verified it before and you're just migrating it to a new device.

Are you still able to send messages using it or no?
