Which captain marvel are you talking about... There have been quite a few, from different companies over the years... Marvel and DC have different ones, although due to the amazing powers of Lawyer-Man Marvel have the right to the name, and DC brand theirs under the name of shazam.
But DC was first... Weren't they? Billy Batson, the ring and the magic word.
