When should I change out the microSD card?

Hi all. I just ordered an S7 to replace my S4 and I'm wondering, if it comes with an SD card already, do I need to do anything before switching it with a larger capacity one? Or can I just switch it before I even turn the phone on for the first time? Is there anything on the pre-installed card that might be needed by the phone first?

Thanks!

Technically the SD card is just an external storage device and has nothing to do with the phone, and brand new phones don't come with a SD card.

Is the phone pre-owned ?

It's new. I ordered it through the upgrade process on T-Mobile's website, so I'm not sure it will come with an SD card, or a SIM card, for that matter, but they are sending me a new one of those since my current one isn't the right size.

You can insert / remove the SD card on the fly (unless your phone's battery obstruct the SD card slot), just remember to unmount it from the settings / storage menu before removing.

It is that "remembering part" that is fraught with problems.
I have always found it safer to just power the phone off.
It is good to restart it once in a while anyway.

yea don't click that link ;) Not sure what goodlock has to do with anything, so this is probably malware of some sort.
