when should i try the N7 ?

I have olde iPhone 4s and was looking forward to upgrade to the N7 but then the issues, so annoyed.
Should my strategy be:
1) upgrade to N7 now with back up to the S7edge or back up to olde iP4s, if problems (verizon 14 days) ?
2) wait until November to let the dust settle on the replacement N7 performance
3) wait until S8 release and then decide between N7 vs S8 (or S7edge); i've waited this long

In my opinion, it comes down to economics.

If you can afford a Note 7 right now and you can find one (check for the black square on the box label), go ahead and get it. If money is a concern, you can wait around to see if there will be any deals on it during the holiday season. Technologically, though, Note 7 is fine right now.

Best buy has them. They told me if checked online and ordered for pickup they would sell me it. I just lucked out and found a AT&T retailer that had a blue one in stock that was willing to sell it. Corporate stores still haven't let up on the not selling part.

Verizon historically discounts the S & Note models $100 on Black Friday with outright purchase. It's sort of unannounced so you just have to keep checking their website that day. I can't remember for sure, but it may be just for that day. That's what I did for my past N3 & S5 purchases. It'll be here before you know it and meanwhile you can monitor how everyone's N7's are performing.

as above, if money is no object then just get it now, I know I would.
personally I'm waiting a bit to see if I can pick one up on a deal later in the year as I just can't justify to hand over nearly 900 Euro for a phone, well that and also they are not available here again yet after the recall.
