Help When Upadating, do I get the latest update or the one after the one I currently have?

I have been putting off updating my phone because of the time it takes to do it. Also, in the past when I have done an update, it will usually tell me there is another update available three or four days after I do the first one. As you can imagine, I hate this.

The question I have is just like the title states. When I update, do i get the latest update, or the next one in line which would be followed by the next, and then the next, and then the next, etc.

In other words, If I am at update C, will I skip all the way to update Z or will I have to go to update D, and then update E, and then update F, G, H, I etc.

OTA updates are incremental with only a small portion being added to the current system. If there are 2 or more updates available, you have to download and install them in the order their released.
Another option would be to flash the latest released version available by date, if the firmware is available for your model number.
OTA updates shouldn't affect user data. A complete firmware flash will probably erase user data.
