When will the app store open up?

Have any details been released on how much of a royalty Google will take? I think Apple takes 30%. I've been looking and haven't found much at all.

does anyone know how big the market will be compared to the iphone app store? i heard google will be offering all apps for free for the first 30 days. is this true? if that's the case i want to get an app out asap.

I believe Google will not take any cut of revenue (through Android Market) from it's developers. See this article:

BTW, the official (at least, I think it is) Android Market is up now and has a few apps listed there. I have included a link to the Android Market at the link below. Just click on the link below, and then click on 'Market' (in the bottom left corner)

Another option is to go through Handango, at
http://www.handango.com

who will host paid apps. And I believe they do take a cut from the revenue, but I forget how much.

Hope this helps.

Sincerely,
Nikhil
