When will Verizon get an "Evo"?

My current T-Mobile contract will be up in February 2011, and Verizon is definitely going to be my next carrier.

I'm hoping that by that time Verizon will have launched their 4G LTE network and an Android phone equivalent to the Evo. I know about the rumored Motorola phone(s) coming soon, but not much about any expected launch dates for the phones or Verizon's 4G network...

I don't know if you guys in Austin will get it by then. It is also unclear if peasants like us (non-business users) will have a piece of it. The only devices that take advantage of that network might only be dongles and notebook cards.

I hope there is such a device and a network to support it by the end of the year, but it would not surprise me if we were still waiting for it when your Tmobile contract is up.

Verizon is supposed to roll out LTE by the end of the year with devices coming in the middle of next year. I'm not sure they're on schedule. Don't you guys already have 4G in Austin? Any particular reason that you aren't just buying an Evo at launch?

With backers such as Sprint Nextel, Google, Intel, Comcast, and Bright House, Wimax is here to stay.

Did you notice that Sprint is the only WIRELESS partner? They are also the smallest of the major carriers. I'd rather wait for LTE from VZW...My Droid will treat me just fine until then...

And how many partners does VZW have?
