Help Where are downloaded Google Music files stored?

I Googled this a little and found this thread, but I can't seem to locate my music. I had been collecting Google Music to my library whenever I found out a certain album was on sale for a buck or even free. One day, I finally decided to download them all, about 3 GB worth. I noticed that my internal storage was where it was placed and not external storage. I'd like to find these files and move them to my external storage, but I can't locate them. Does anyone know where the Droid Turbo 2 stores these files? I'd also like to copy them to my PC so I can play them there as well (instead of through the phone). I'm running Android 6.0.0, unrooted, of course. TIA.

On my rooted Galaxy S3 running 4.4.2 my Google Music files are buried in
/data/data/com.google.android.music/files/music
I don't think you'll be able to access them directly as your Turbo isn't rooted (I need to use the Root Explorer file manager app to get to that folder). Another issue you'd have to deal with is while all the music files show their corresponding info and album art using the Google Music app, when you're looking at the files in that folder they're just identified by numerical names (i.e. 51.mp3). As it sounds like you've got hundreds if not thousands of songs, that's a lot of just randomly numbered files. Viewing a music file's 'Properties' doesn't reveal anything significant either. Also note whichever media player (other than Google Music) you also use won't index that directory as it has a '.nomedia' file in it.

If you want to play them on your pc, you can do it direcly without messing around locating the files on your phone.

Thanks for the reply. That is very annoying that Google Music makes retrieving MP3s way more inconvenient than say Amazon MP3s. With Amazon, you have full access to the MP3 files. With Google Music, they're hidden and can only be played with Google Music player. I guess the moral of the story is that if you want to buy MP3s, use Amazon unless Google unless it's free or super cheap with the latter.

Thanks, that is good to know to be able to download MP3s directly from the Google Play account onto a PC. I will check that out. If that's the case, then it's a no-brainer that one should use that method to then transfer them to a phone, where you can put in external storage and play with any music player app instead of having to use the Google Play Music app.
