where are email addresses stored?

Ive just got an LG E430 & have managed to sync all my contactcs from my PC ( eventually!) but I cant see where the email addresses are stored?
If I start typing in a known email address it will give me a suggestion but I cant see where the list is! I can see the list of PHONE numbers in "contacts" but no e mail addys!
 
Open your app drawer and look for the app called "People"

You can also get to your listings in your Dialer by opening that and clicking on the far right tab.
 
You're on Android 4.1.2 right?

It should come with your Android system. Like Gallery, Settings, Email, etc.

Did you try going through your dialer? The top right tab there.

It may be called Contacts for you. Perhaps your mobile provider installed an app that overwrote it. If you can't find it, there are a number of "contact" apps you can download for free from the App store.
 
ah, ok its called contacts & yes if I search in there I find some people have an extra listing when i click on it shows the email address. However what id like is to be able to have some kind of icon next to that showing it is an eamil addy & not a phone number?
 
Ya, in all honesty I don't think Android does a great job with contacts, people, numbers, etc.

Duplicates are often because of sync's from various locations. For example, if you go Settings > Accounts you will see the accounts you are syncing. Google will be one of them, then I have five more (Whatsapp, Skype, etc.)

In your Dialer you can:
Dialer > Settings > Contacts to Display and customize.
 
Hmmm.....I have a higher version of Android. Do you not see this?

It probably won't be exactly what you want. But it will allow you to import only from google and not skype etc.

I have never used another Contacts app, but I know Go makes one and I am sure there are a few others. By now there should be lots of comments from users so you can get an idea if they really don't work. Sorry, I just have never tried any of them.
 
not sure if everyone here knows what Im looking for! maybe ive not explained myself too well. What Id like is a folder/app/whatever that stores a list of my email addresses seperately from the list of phone numbers in the dialer's contacts.
Like at present they are all mixed together & its not so easy to see only email addys, I have to scroll thru them all. Maybe there is some app that allows this?
 
I believe many email apps already have the functionality you're detailing.

Look for a contacts view in the email app
