Where are they?

Recently some photos were added to google photos but they haven't shown up on there yet. I want to download them to the pc (ok, laptop) but how can I if they're not there? I tried refreshing as well as leaving and coming back to the website, but they still don't show.

Have you tried opening the Photos app while connected to WiFi? It doesn't sync in the background, and (at least) by default doesn't sync over mobile data, so you may need to do this in order to prompt it to back the pictures up.

Actually, I am using wifi with the pc. The pictures (and 1 video) were done with a phone and have shown up on its version of google photos, just not the pc. Do I have to shut it down completely or what?

Do you have the phone set to sync when not on WiFi?

It's the laptop. The new stuff shows up fine on the phone with google photos, but not the pc. I tried using Degoo to send between them but it didn't work. Is there a way to get google photos to sync with the pc?

Open the photos app on your phone and look in the top right corner. Do you see a small oval with a number and a sync symbol in it?

I finally fixed that by using Degoo to upload them to photos instead of emailing them. The next time I checked google photos, there they were. It would be nice if nobody had to go through all these workarounds, though.

I guess the pc version doesn't have that. I just checked and I didn't see it. Would they have hidden it some other way?

New stuff shows up instantly on Google Photos on the phone, but only syncs over WiFi and only when the Photos app is active. That's why I asked whether you had opened the Photos app while connected to WiFi: if you hadn't done that since taking the pictures they would not have been uploaded.
