Where does my carrier get their internet services from or what produces the internet services they provide?

Your carrier like just about all other ISPs, has a direct connection into the Internet backbone. In fact your carrier may even be an Internet backbone company itself, like Sprint in the US, BT in the UK, China Unicom in China etc
