Where is "Assisted dialing" feature in root directory? And how to TURN IT OFF!

I bought a unlocked galaxy edge s7 in Japan, and am now in the USA trying to get it to work. Got a SIM from AT&T, and the data works fine, but it won't send or receive any SMS messages or calls, whenever I try to dial a number, I get the option seen in the attached file. Needless to say, neither option works regardless. From my research, I've found that the problem is this "assisted dialing" feature, but the normal place where the option to turn this off is, is not there. I assume that this option has been put under an app the Japanese carrier has installed that is listed in the "Call settings" part called "au service" but I can't access it without logging into their network.... Which obviously I cannot do.... So now, I'm hoping to be able to root the device and disable it that way. Anyone know how to find this option and fix it through rooting the phone? I'm running Android 7.0

Rooting your device may not be the magic solution you want it to be. Editing parts of a phone's firmware can sometimes result in complications, including bricking the device so that approach to the problem should be done incrementally (do lots of backups, and at each stage).
Also, are you sure that 'assisted dialing' is the cause of your problem? Please post the source of your 'research'. Offhand this sounds like it's more of a carrier differences issue as each carrier, especially when it involves different countries, relies on different types of cellular networks. What is the exact model I.D. for your S7 Edge?

The model number is SCV33. The phone worked fine with a local carrier in Japan, but started giving me that message "choose dialing destination" when I put in an AT&T. My research was over the course of a few hours and dozens of sites. This was the closest to describing my issue. https://forums.androidcentral.com/s...ll-issue-international-error.html#post6224724 I took it into the AT&T people, and I didn't tell them what I thought, but they came to the same conclusion I did, and ran into the same problem that I did- there seems to be no option to turn this off where it is supposed to be in the call options. Not sure what you mean by saying its more of a carrier differences. How does my data work but the phone not? And even more frustrating, I received exactly one message on this phone, from AT&T, from their 4891 survey number asking for me how likely I'd recommend their services. How is it that I received that message at all?! messing around with other phones adding the international code and whatnot doesn't help either...

It's not the apn, cause I've got another phone that I'm using that is international as well, and the sim card works perfectly for it, the apn settings are both the same, but when I put the sim in the galaxy edge, it just refuses to work...

Is there a reason as to why you won't divulge the model I.D. of this phone? Instead of all our suppositions and guesses based on assumptions, knowing the model could help reveal the actual problem.

I don't think this guy needs any help, he seems to already have his answers and doesn't wanna listen to those who're trying to help him.. JS

You're trying to make a phone model work on a cellular network it was not configured to be fully compatible with. You can either accept the fact this particular phone will not be fully functional using your carrier, or shop around for a replacement phone that is compatible.

Ok, well now I'm very confused. i went to that website, couldn't find it in the normal search, but in advanced I could see it and it only said it wasn't 2g compatible.

Screen cap below show what I see entering in the specs you've posted.
