Where is my car dock?

I don't get it. This phone was launched 6 weeks ago and still no car dock? Is is so much to ask to supply a little piece of plastic so I can use the navigation services in my car?

Tired of waiting. Any other options that will fit the N1? Holding up my phone with my hand while driving is not going to be a suitable option.

well i have one of those rubber cases from ebay for like $10 shipped... and it sits on my dash in my car where the speedometer is.. and it doesnt move :)

Looks nice also.

I just bought a universal car mount from bestbuy. I can either stick it onto the windshield or onto the dash. Works great so far.

When i had an iPhone I bought a doc for my bike (Gixxer), and luckily the Nexus One fits right into it. But I do want a dock for my car. I'd rather have this then my Garmin.

Since I'm hearing the Nexus 1 has an FM transmitter and receiver, it seems like a solution that eventually comes out that would use this to send music to the car would be an awesome solution, so that for audio (for those of us without cars with BT audio) and power the setup would be simple with a single cable from the dock to the cigarette lighter.

I'd really like the official adapter to be as clean and simple as possible, if I have to connect multiple cables and plug them in and out every time I think that's a bit inconvenient (although for now I'm just living with a tape adapter solution).

Gotta love awesome reflections!

Back on topic :) Google said the car dock was coming soon, but that was back in January 14. Could be manufacturing delays? I would assume the docks are being made by HTC and will use the same dock as the HTC Desire. So, maybe that's the delay? Maybe HTC is waiting to ship the Desire to release the dock concomitantly. But then again, HTC doesn't have a docking mechanism for any of their phones. Perhaps, Google is going to outsource the dock? Shouldn't be hard to do. In the meantime, as said above, ProClips makes a nice system for many phones/devices.

Arrrgh... I need my cardock... currently my N1 has to sit in my lap while I'm driving which is distracting and annoying.

I also want a dock that can charge my phone so I don't lose battery life while using the nav. Thats my primary reason for holding off on getting a 3rd party cardock.

The ProClip holder has a charging option. It works great.

I'll probably punt to the Google car dock when it comes out if I can attach it to my ProClip mount.

How does it charge? Does it use the same method as the Desktop dock or do you need to plug something in?

It has a built in micro USB plug in the dock. It lines up perfectly. Thats the only downside. I'll switch to the Google dock if it puts the phone in "Car Mode" when you dock it.

um, i'm not sure why you guys are having a hard time finding one when there's tons to choose from right here....i personally got the power dongle but it's your choice.
