Where to place music files?

Hi, i am quite new to android phones having been used to iOS, and I use a MAC....

My first phone recently was a HTC Wildfire and that was pretty straight forward as it had a folder named music within the directory, also only one device popped up on the desktop which was my 16gb Micro SD card within the phone.

Now I have wiped that card and placed it into my new Samsung Galaxy S2. But now 2 devices pop up on the desktop, my SD Card and the actual phones USB storage.

After opening the "NO NAME" USB Storage device i noticed there is no folder for music so rather than mucking things up on the phones main storage, I created a folder called "MUSIC" BUT placed it on the 16gb Micro SD card.

I then ejected both devices and opened Winamp and preseto, there was the album and the album artwork as I dropped a JPEG in the folder and called it "folder.jpg" BUT when I view the album I get "Untitled Artist" even though the tracks come straight from iTunes.

So my 2 questions are, If I want to create the same "MUSIC" folder on the USB storage side, where do I create the folder or does it matter? And, how do I get around the "Untitled Artist" problem or is there no way?

I am aware of applications such as iTunes My Walkman etc but I want to avoid them as I would like to drag and drop my own way.

Many thanks in advance!
