Root Where to start with rooting/Custom ROMS

So, i have been having a lot of major issues with my phone recently, from touchscreen issues, to random restarts, tons of slowdown, and more. So i decided, since my phone is already out of warranty, what's the harm in rooting it and installing a faster Custom OS that is updated to Android 7/8? So I've decided that i'm going to do just that; problem is, i have no clue where to start, or what the details of installing custom ROMS are.

-Can i install stock Android 7/8, without it being LineageOS or something?
-Is LineageOS stable enough to replace my default OS?
-I can install LineageOS without rooting, but should i?
-What do i need to do it?
-How do it i do it in general?

If anyone can answer these questions for me that'd be great, thanks.

Hi, I will try to answer a couple of your questions, you can't install a Samsung ROM unfortunately, and if installing a ROM such as Lineage make sure that you get the correct one for your model of phone. I would root the phone first using CF-Autoroot, Google CF-Autoroot and download the correct program for your phone, be it G900F, G900F, or whichever then come back and I will help further. Phil
