Where'd the new folder go?

I was looking at some of the DCIM files on SD and decided to set up a new folder for some of them. I typed in a name for it and chose OK. When I went back to the images to put them in it, it disappeared. How do I fix this?

Did you create the folder in the internal storage or external SD storage?
Make sure your looking in the right place.

I have no idea if it's internal or external. I just tapped new folder, named it, and tapped OK. When I went to select what to put in it, it was gone. I suppose I could create another new folder, but then couldn't I have exactly the same problem. By the way, I was looking at images on the SD card, or at least that's what it claimed.

First, we must acquaint ourselves with basic file structure.
What file manager are you using?

I have X-plore but I don't use it that much. It seems good, pretty powerful, and I'm not quite sure exactly what to do with it. I guess I could find that folder with it some way.
