Where's the keyboard

I just had one of the Samsung guys at my local Best Buy "upgrade" my maps. Now I have things like "where I am", etc. things I don't really care about. But the big thing is this: Why can't I find the keyboard to type out my destination like the old app? I saw a glimpse of a keyboard for a second but it was gone quickly.

What map application? Google maps or do you use another map app?

Sorry for reply, yes Google Maps, I had used Google Navigation previously and it had a keyboard. However, maybe google maps on my Samsung works the same as Google Maps on my laptops? With that line wherein I could type the city, etc.

Hmm, what version do you have?

And when you open maps and click on the top section,

...the keyboard should automatically come up:

Does that not happen for you?

The Samsung guy at Best Buy updated my navigation map to google map 2 wks ago so it must be up to date. When I open it, it's like it looks like on my laptop and when I click it opens a box to fill the destination in. I seemed to have seen a keyboard a week ago but could never find it again. My update is same as yours 9.21.1

Does your keyboard pop up in other applications that require the keyboard? e.g. email, text

Keyboard works on email/text/etc. But my Google navigation used to have keyboard but once I got Google Map, it disappeared. Maybe I can go to Best Buy and ask the guy who installed Google Map over google navigation.

oh cool! That's great!
How did you find it, or make it appear?

I opened maps and opened the blue button (which is below the white button) and it opened on another page and offered "my location" and "choose location", so I put an address in "choose location" and voila, there's the keyboard.

But I noticed maps has a lot of stuff I don't need as in I don't need to know how to find the restaurant last night again... and lots of stuff like that. One thing was telling me that traffic was 12 minutes on 101 Fwy, and it offers too many places I've gone to, that I don't need a map for it. Although I can reserve dinner from the phone, but I don't really care... lots of stuff that nobody really needs except kids.

Thanks!
Yeah, as far as all that map stuff....I don't find much use for it either, but it doesn't bug me enough to research how to turn it off :)
