Which app for data collection in offline mode

Hi All,

Thanks for opening this thread.

I'm working with someone who's collecting names and email addresses of visitors to a visitor attraction. The data is collected on an asus tablet - latest Android version.

To be clear, visitors' names and email addresses are literally typed into that device. Like this:

Tom,tom@email.com
John,john@email.com
Frank,frank@email.com
etc.

Once or twice a week, the names and email addresses that were collected should be passed on to me so I can process that information.

My question: which app should be used for data collection?
The hurdle: the data is collected offline and the only connection to the internet is through a USB connection to a desktop computer.

I was thinking of a very plain notepad app that stores the info in .txt on the tablet.
That file is then transferred to a desktop computer and attached to an email that is sent to me.

Can you think of a more elegant solution?

Thank you, Tom
