Which Are The Best Applications

Hi, which are the best Applications for: internet speed boost, battery save, malware/virus prevention and 2G to 3G converter application.

  • Internet speed boost: No such thing, regardless of what any app claims.
  • 2G to 3G converter: No such thing, regardless of what any app claims.
  • Battery save: No such thing, though apps like GSAM can help you determine which apps/hardware are using the most battery. And automation apps like Llama can let you automatically turn on/off energy-using features based on time, location, connection type, etc.
  • Malware/virus prevention: Unnecessary for Android. Android isn't like Windows where it can become infected with a burrowing, metastasizing virus. As long as you install apps from reliable sources (like Play Store, Amazon app store) you'll be safe. If you don't, then no anti-virus app is likely to help.

... speed ... if this is referring to "lag" ... the fix 99% of the time is to do a Wipe Cache Partition deleting all temporary data. It can become contaminated over time and really slow things down.

RazzMaTazz had it right

My rules for smooth, fast, trouble-free operation was never very long and has gotten shorter as Android has improvéd and matured.

Now, here's what I do - and more importantly, what I don't do:

I do nothing to cache files.
I don't use cleaner, manager, optimizer or saver apps.
I don't use antivirus.
I rarely manually close apps.
I do uninstall apps this way:
Settings > Apps > Select app > Force stop > Clear cache > Clear data > Uninstall.
This helps to ensure nothing is left behind.
I do disable apps I never use.
I'm careful about what I install.
I relax and use my phone.

Well, that's about it. To summarize:
I'm careful.
I use my phone.
Oh, and I do backups.

You can try Google Chrome for Internet. I guess you should download files from trusted resources only to prevent virus attacks.
