Which one to buy?

Hey guys, i've been looking around and i've decided i really want a HTC phone because of Sense. Now, the problem here is, the one i want (the Incredible) isn't available in the UK. So My questions are,

1. If i bought a HTC incredible from Ebay, could i unlock it and put my SIM in it?
2.If number one isnt possible, what's the best equivalent to the Incredible?

Also, i'm on an Orange Contract, got a Sony ericsson Satio, hate it, got 18 months left so i need a new one!

not sure. do they sell incredibles for vodafone in the uk? if they are us only for verizon, the answer would be no. verizon in the states does not use sim cards so a verizon phone only works on verizon and other phones dont only work on other networks.

you thought about the htc evo? not sure if you would be able to take advantage of 4g stuff though.

Not sure, looks a bit too big for me, and i've heard about all the light leakage issues. Notsure they sell that here either. And nah, the incredible isn't sold on vodafone i dont think.

you know, now that i think more about it, if you are willing to pay for an incredible off of ebay, a phone that was just released, just wait for some version of the droid2 or droidX to drop on your side of the pond. just a thought.

You CAN'T do that as of yet. The droid Incredible is a CDMA version phone CDMA phones don't use SIM technology.

I here that 3rd party applications such as Sense can make some applicatons impossible to run on the phone. As much as I used to want a HTC phone, I've decided against it because there are applications out there that don't work on it because of the unique build of the Sense UI. If I were looking for a phone, I would look for one that doesn't have Sense or Motoblur if I'm planning on rooting and so on.

I've got the desire on orange which is their flagship UK phone. I think it is superb. I've not had any problems with any apps. All worked just fine, even when others are reporting force close issues.

I would certainly recommend the desire.
