Which phone is more powerfull/more potential??

Ok so im 16, but my grandmother is going to open an account for me in her name, and since i am employed, im going to use my debit card for automatic payments. My question is which of these two phones are more powerful/faster/show most future potential.

1.AT&T-iPhone 3GS About $85 before taxes...etc
-better service, proven software and hardware
2.T-Mobile-MyTouch 3G About $65 before taxes...etc
-Android shows a lot of potential, flash in the web browser, i like the OS better, more features..

so please, which one?
PS-just became employed today, after being let go from my previous job 2 months ago.

that's not an question anyone can honestly answer.

It all really depends on what YOU want out of the phone and what you consider to be important. What features do you want? What kind of signals do ATT and T-Mobile have in your area? Which minutes/text/data packages are in your price range? There isn't a one size fits all answer for this.

Anyone who suggests that one is "the best" is likely selling something.

Well, screen responsiveness, OS, apps games and multimedia are most important. I thing att has better service in my area. I think android has more potential as an OS, its more completely customizable, open source and always being features added to it. So in OS I think android def wins.
As for apps and games I'd say its a tie but maybe android in the future. Tmobile would be about $20 cheaper than att for me. It would be about $64 and att $84 before taxes. I'm 16 and I'm making $9/hr lol so tmobile wins plan rates.
One thing I hate about the mytouch, is no 3.5mm headphone jack!
I have no idea what to do here. Please could u help me further now that I have included more info?

The thing is you could read a hundred reviews but in the end, it's your decision. What you need to do is figure out what you want, and what device, based on reviews and articles(in other words, your research), is going to give you what you want. I can't do that for you, only you can make that decision.

If it helps, your response doesn't sound like you want an iPhone. It sounds very much like you want Android (you're here, aren't you?), so if it has all the features and options you want (or at least the most important ones) sounds like you've already made a decision.

Yea..I think the only thig holding me back is that att has better coverage here in long island new york, and they are supposed to get an android phone this year. So I could get an iphone now, and wait for the android phone but I'm not that patient so I don't know. Thanks for the help

I live in Seattle. AT&T still has better coverage than T-Mobile and both have US Headquarters here.

Sprint and Verizon, however, have coverage better than AT&T and T-mobile. You have to remember that Oregon and Washington are large states with large rural areas so Sprint/Verizon is better in that regard. But, in the major cities the difference is less significant.
