Hi, I have the Samsung Galaxy S3, it was originally a T-Mobile upgrade but I had it unlocked and is now on Tesco (O2), could anyone tell me who I will get the Jellybean update from? Phil

Depends if it was T-mobile Branded or not.

If the phone was t-mobile branded (Handset from T-mobile directly) then the update will be from T-mobile

If the phone was unbranded (handset from Carphone Warehouse etc) then the update will be directly from samsung

Sim card / Network lock is irrelevant

If its unlocked the update is available, connect to kies to see if its there.

Not quite

To be clear, unlocked means no SIM lock. This is not the same as unbranded (generic samsung, not carrier branded).

SIM unlocking a device does not change the software version on the phone. Its the software on the phone that dictates where the update comes from. If that software is carrier branded, it comes from the carrier.

Sure, if you buy an unbranded device, it will be SIM unlocked but these terms are in no way synonymous.

For example, early 3UK s3's were not SIM locked but still carried 3uk software.
