Apps Which Video Formats to use for Android

Hi everyone.
I've been trying to develop a video app for android. I've been able to stream the videos from my server onto android devices.

I have found that .flv's do not appear correcly, they look like they have got interference on them. I have had success using .MP4 but the files sizes are huge, even when I use a small resolution.

Has anybody got any other suggestions on how I can have both good quality + smaller files sizes that will run on Android devices. I am using Flash CS5 to publish apps for android.

ALSO, I have found that when I have a video running and then got back to the main menu of the app, I can still hear the video playing in the background. Is there a "stop all" type command.

Leroy,

You can play MP4,DivX,XviD,WMV with H.264/H.263 1080p @30fps on samsung galaxy S2

and audio formats supported are MP3,WAV,eAAC+,AC3,FLAC

U cannot play .flv format on your phone....but you can easily convert it to other formats. There are lots of video converters available...i think it would be best if u covert it using ur pc as it is very fast

And about the video playing in the background...u can just pause the video and exit the application or kill the task using a task killer if required

Hope i helped...press the Thanks button if i did
