Help Whistle GO pet tracker, anyone?

MoodyBlues

Compassion is cool!
Just wondering if anyone else around here has a Whistle GO pet tracker. I've had one for a few days, and it's giving me weird results.

For example, I can guarantee--with 100% certainty--that Joy Noelle has not walked 5 miles since Friday night, but look:

Trust me, she's been mostly sleeping...and eating. And, of course, she's always indoors. My house isn't big enough to account for 5 miles walked in 3 days! :D

And then there's this:

Her device has NOT been off, or without cellular service, but this is what it shows for every day since we got it.

Any ideas?

Perhaps the Whistle Go collar is defective. I have a suggestion but will not offer it as I fear it may be interested other that intended. I will say, I real enjoy reading your posts.

Ps. I meant to respond to a previous posts to say , I was happy to hear you are health has improved. Im also remember your comment on How much you love Linux. As for me I love root access with the same passion. lol

Aw, thanks MrJavi! :) Yes, I'm very passionate--and opinionated!--about Linux, as you've already noticed. :D

I was hoping someone else would have a Whistle GO and be able to reassure me that its behavior is perfectly normal for an indoor cat.

It warned me when I set up its 'safe zone' (my property) that it was 'a little small' and was I really sure about it. I wanted to make it smaller--just my house--but it wouldn't shrink down like that. So I think it gets a little confused by indoor pets!

Well , Hear I was assuming it was your dog. The only reson I know about whistle Go is becaue of your post. One of the many reason I enjoy reading your post. I will say, I have a cat and her many activity is sleeping. Just a "hair ball thought" lol, :D but is it possibe to test the collar by placing it in your purse for a day simultaneously use you adroid walking app and compare data.

Hello

Hows the Whistle Go working? Thanks

Hello

Hows the Whistle Go working? Thanks
Well, I think I figured out why it's not showing any activity. After reading through their support pages, it seems that no data will be transmitted while the pet is in their safe zone. Since Joy Noelle has always been in the house since we got it, it hasn't transmitted anything. When we take her for her next visit with my vet, we'll get to see how it works.

But I have yet to figure out why it thinks she's walking several miles a day. :o

Thanks for asking. It's a great product I think all pet parents should consider getting.

Your welcome, Yes tracking several my a day seems odd. Hard not to notice your cat walking all over te place back and fourth while generating that kind of data.

How's the 'Whistle Pro" and how would you rate this product?
That's kind of hard to answer! Since Joy Noelle never goes outside--except to the vet, and we haven't gone there since she's had it--it's hard to say too much about it.

I can say that it's very cool! It alerts me when its battery needs charging, and it periodically sends me 'progress reports' [like one I posted] on her activity accomplishments. It's truly remarkable that she can walk FIVE MILES in a week....inside the house...where she spends -most- of her time sleeping--on me. :D

The maps showing her location are always spot-on.

I'd definitely recommend it to any pet parent, even for cats, like Joy Noelle, who are strictly indoors. From what I've seen, it works as it's supposed to. Its $9.95/month fee is well worth the price, considering you'd be able to track and retrieve a lost pet with its service.
