White box around apps...

Okay this is hardly mission critical, but a good bit into using the new Android OS and my new phone, I've noticed a few of the app icons on the one screen have a white box around them where other's do not. I tinkered around with settings and the like but haven't really had any luck... Some examples include YouTube and Google Voice. I can screen cap if you need em, thanks in advance!

Yes, please post some screenshots, and tell us which icons you're referring to.

Do you use a custom launcher or have any icon packs installed as part of a theme? The white box could indicate that those apps don't have a custom icon.

@MoodyBlues - Okay, hopefully the file is attached correctly, but I'll know as soon as I post reply I suppose! As you'll hopefully be able to see, the Chrome and Play have the white, DoggCatcher and TuneIn do not.

@lunatic59 - Thinking I should have mentioned that before! I'm currently using Nova Launcher, but thought I had explored \ tinkered around enough to have found something!

It is by default launcher you have. Varation different launchers that do not have white boxes surrounding google apps :)

Those icons are part of Nova's default theme. Try a different icon pack and see if you can find something you like (I am currently using Sense Glass)

Great stuff everyone, thanks for the help! Honestly I'm just looking for the icons without the white border, but again it's hardly mission critical. I was just hoping there'd be a way to easily remove them or update them if possible.

Since you're using Nova, you can edit them. Long press the icon, choose edit, tap the icon image and choose. I don't believe that I have any original icons on my phone.
