White LED notification?

Trying to help my sister out with her S3. She asked what a white LED notification light is for. Not sure if it's solid or blinking. Her battery is at 65% so I don't think it's low. She says she has no notifications when she swipes down, but it seems the LED is now no longer on. Couldn't find anything useful on Google

Any thoughts

White led on the front? Or the LED flash for the camera? That's a known bug in the 4.3 update - the flash comes on every time you get - I forget if it's a text, an email or either. Just another thing Samsung is going to have to fix.
