personally i dont get twitter. can somebody fill me in? i am also disgusted with facebook. i get the family staying in touch bit... but facebook is so overkill in my eyes

Twitter is a source of info for me. For example sites like Engadget can provide quick news instead of browsing the whole site.

I don't care about using Facebook. I have my friends and family close to me by using phone calls, Skype video calls, texting and email.
