OK. So I don't know if it was off by default, but if you open the Assist app, there is a Hands Free when your Home feature you can turn on. Then whenever you are home, the phone will talk it all out. It will voice prompt you to do things useful.

I love it.

Example: You get a call. It rings, then says who is calling you. Then it asks if you want to answer. If you say no don't answer. It hangs up and offers to send a text you say out loud to the caller. See it in action on youtube:

Sorry, I don't see anything but Driving Meeting and Sleeping.

Unless that is in the update coming through right now?

OK well then I don't know more than what I shared. Basically on my phone using Kikat 4.4.3 and standard apps that came with the Moto X like Assist there is an option you can turn on called Home hands free. It will auto detch when your at home and then let's you know by talking out loud that a phone call or message arrived. And you respond or answer from across the room by talking to the phone.

It is in the Assist app. Its there and you just might not be realizing it. To help watch this YouTube video on setup/using Assist. I find its very useful to auto text folks via adding a meeting to my calendar and hands free texting from across the room.

That video is a year old. The "Home" function in the Assist app was only added a few months ago.
