I forsee my beloved, yet quite outdated G1 getting replaced in the near future...whenever TMo gets something I think is worth using my upcoming upgrade on (if they ever do) or switching to Verizon for the Incredible.
This will leave the lonely G1 with no purpose in life. Here is where you all come in.
I am trying to think of clever and useful ways of recommisioning the G1. I can't help but think along the lines of the iPad...this basically does alll the same stuff so it could probably fill the same "coffee table, quick email checker" role. There's probably other uses though...
Obvious: Load it with ebooks and games and let it chill in the living room for when my wife and I don't feel like booting up a computer.
But maybe:
Find a way to put Skype (or similar) on it and use it as a "home phone".
Maybe put Debian on it for network penetration testing?
Put another lite install of Linux on it (maybe Damn Small Linux...) for browsin the web and whatnot?
I dunno...be creative!
