Why am I receiving "Force Close" Messages

I am no longer able to access the gmail application. I've been receiving two error messages (below). I receive these messages when trying to access gmail, but also when I receive a call, or try to access other applications, or go to the android market. Thoughts?

1) "The application Gmail storage (process
com.google.process.gapps) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again."


2) "The application Gmail (process
com.google.android.gm) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again."

tmobile g1 not rooted or anything

tmo is going to tell you to do a factory reset (data wipe). after that if you still have problems they will push 1.6 to you again. Try the data wipe before calling them.

are you can just take the battery out..after you turn it off...after you do what fingerlickin said
