Why are some movies so quiet on Android?

I copied my disc of Girl With the Dragon Tattoo(awesome, awesome movie by the way, I really need to see the Swedish originals) to a format for my Thunderbolt, but even with volume at max with headphones, its just not overly audible with ambient noise around me, and whats odd is that I'd say 90% of the movies I've put on my phone don't share this problem. Any suggestions, or am I just screwed?

It might be your CD ripper, I know some have options for audio, and it might be too low, but then again the same thing happens to my droid on some songs, so i don't think it's just yuo

Probably in your ripping setup, or probably your headphones and the audio channels the movie uses. I got noise cancelling headsets so its fine on my end.
