Why can this Pop Up NOT be Disabled?

It is not a wifi networks avaible pop up. I already have that turned off. This is saying "Sign into wi-fi network". And as you can see in the below video, you can not clear it, and I go to the settings of the pop up and it's already turned off, yet continues to show??

Watch video to understand: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YSjW8lz61Wc

Im running Android 9, galaxy s8 verizon

Hmm, okay thanks. I couldn't find anything else turned on. I tried the advanced settings in wifi. and dug through the maze of options for a bit.

Will see if anyone else posts some ideas or knows?

I believe that setting is a smart Wi-Fi setting, buried somewhere else in your settings. I don't have your device so I'm going off other's posts...

I watched the YT video. Is it only Starbucks WiFi that shows this? Does Starbucks have a partner agreement with Verizon, to try to force customers to use their WiFi, while supping their lattes and frappuccinos, etc.

lol Im not sure. I dont recall if its popped up on other wifi networks, Im guessing it would do this on any public wifi network that has a sign in prompt. Mcdonalds, Taco bell, hotels, etc

You are on the right track. It will be interesting to see if other available networks nag you beyond you ignoring available networks or if is indeed a Verizon / Starbucks agreement.

So following up on this old thread, no, it is not just Starbucks Wifi. See video, had it happen again on a couple different public wifi networks that do NOT let you clear the pop up message:

Wonder if it's Android that does this, or Samsung specifically. No one else ever encountered this?
