Help why can't i updgrade my software?

I have Verizon wireless, and on my s3 i have software 4.0.4 and I just bought it about 4 days ago. I hear of people have software like 4.1.1. or 4.1.2. . Why can't I upgrade? I check all the time to see if there are software updates but it is telling me that it is up to date. I think 4.0.4. is why my battery isn't the best too and this is why i wish to upgrade.

The upgrade to 4.1.1 is out but only for some carriers and in some parts of the world. they are rolling it out to everyone but may be another month or so before everyone gets it. lots of this has to do with the carriers themselves rather than google and samsung.

O you will get it but just wait a few more weeks.

4.1.2 is not out yet for this phone anywhere. in the works though of course. Only 1 tablet has 4.1.2 from my understanding. it's only been out for a few days.

your battery life will suck the first week and a half. Takes a bit for it to settle down some. Go into settings then battery and see what is draining your battery the most and try to limit that some. Most likely it's the screen draining the battery as it requires the most use. have the screen auto turn off and or turn down the brightness some may help.

4.1.1 is officially available for S3 International and other models, while there is also a leaked firmware version 4.1.2 only for the International version.

You mean Nexus 10 tablet that has 4.2 and not 4.1.2
