I know Google had to make cutbacks in the Nexus 5X in order to create a phone that would be more affordable for the original Nexus 5 crowd like myself. I can understand using a SoC that's a bit older, using only 2 Gigs of RAM, cutting out a few camera features because of less powerful hardware, and removing wireless charging to save on overall costs. With things like Qi charging, I can see using a USB case that supports it instead.
With the design of the Nexus 5X and the inclusion of stereo speakers in the original Nexus 6, however, this should be a standard feature of all Nexus phones now. I'm sure it could have easily been added into the 5X without a lot of extra cost. They even made it look like there are two speakers in the front. I was really hoping good sound would be one of the killer features of the 5X but now it's just one less thing that makes it hard to get excited about buying the phone.
The size of the phone and the Android updates are the only two reasons I'm still considering it at all.
