Why is this and what can I do to prevent them from running? Samsung galaxy s-vzw.

So they don't take forever to start when you do want to use them. Don't worry about them, they're not taking up CPU cycles so they don't effect battery life. The way Android uses memory they don't cause any issues and make the phone slower there either. There's only one issue that programs running even when not needed causes: It annoys you. That's it.
