Help why do i have all my whatsapp contacts in not assigned contact group ?

i noticed that i have not assigned contact group on my samsung s3 neo

but inside i have only whatsapp contacts ,that's weird

why have i all my whatsapp contacts on my not assigned contact group ?

if i delete them from the not assigned contact group , what could be happen ?
