Why do I need duplicate apps on android?

Why do I need duplcate apps such as launchrs wen I havee launchers if I have google search and metro web.or multiple keyboards? My phone gets bogged down w memory. I have asamsumg3 admiral.
 
Do you mean alternatives to the keyboard or the app launcher?

I guess you don't necessarely need them, but some people just like others better than the ones provided.
