Help Why does 3g stay on when I turn on wifi?

Ok so coming from the Droids x, whenever I would switch to wifi it would disable the mobile network automatically. Now i've noticed 3g stays on whenever I do the same, it has to be turned of separately. Am I missing something?

(Update)
Just noticed its white, as far as I can recall its never been blue when fully connected to wifi. Maybe its this way intentionally to speed up reconnection when switching back to 3g??

(2nd update)
Just noticed my wife's maxx is doing the same thing, must be normal

You've got it.
The blue color indicates "connect to Google's servers". On your screen shot the wifi is blue (working) and 3g is white (signal available, but not actively in use).
Once in a GREAT while I'll see them both blue, but when it happens it's very brief.

That's kind of what I had figured. I was just a little confused because on the Droid x 3g would always disappear whenever wifi was activated.

Hmm, on mine when I connect to WiFi, the 3G or 4G icon disappears. Just shows the Bars and WiFi icon, When I disconnect from WiFi, the 3G or 4G symbol re-appears as a white icon then turns blue right beofre the WiFi disconnects.

If you have a texting plan, you don't want to turn off 3G while on wireless. People won't be able to send you picture/video texts. And you wont be able to send any out. Verizon video/picture texts uses mobile data only but it doesn't count towards your monthly cap.

I can't wait until Text Plus updates their program to allow picture/video texting so I can dump verizon texts all together and save myself $10 a month.

If you like that clock widget, download "Sense Analog Clock". Looks pretty much the same and it's free.
