why does libre office keep pasting text from word as a picture?

Hey guys for some reason now when I paste some text from ms word into libre office writer (on Win 7) it inserts it as a picture, not text. I cannot edit it.

I tried pasting it into another application and it worked. I managed to get it to work if I paste as special and choose rtf. I get editable text instead of an uneditable box of a picture of text (low res, I might add).

I used to be able to paste text as text so something has changed.

What happens if you're pasting in text NOT from m$ word?

Sounds like it is treating your copy as an object instead of text.

Is the source read only?
