Why does my Note 5 screen switch in sunlight and fade out?

Hi all,

Very frustrating when I am in the sunlight or even overcast outdoors and my Note 5 screen switches from vibrant deep colorful screen to a washed out faded shade. If I cover the sensor areas by the earpiece the screen switches back instantly to a more visible colorful mode.

I have auto brightness turned off completely and I am using "Amoled Cinema" in display settings.

Kindly provide information such as :
ROM
KERNEL
XPOSED Y/N
and anything else you may believe can help.

Only then will i be able to try and help.
