why does my phone not let me text anyone?

okay so my ZTE avid 4g wont let me text anyone without the keyboard disappearing after almost every word. everytime i text someone the keyboard comes up but as soon as i start typing it disappears which is really annoying. does anyone have that same problem or can help me with this annoying issue????????

A few questions first.

Are you running a custom rom?
Which keyboard are you using?
Does this only happen when you're texting? Or does it do it in other apps like Browser or Facebook

Some options I can think of from the info you provided is first the obvious one, restart the phone to see if that does the trick

If it's a keyboard that you've downloaded from the Google Play store, you can first try force stopping it, or clearning the cache. If that doesn't work, try uninstalling and reinstalling the keyboard.
