Why does my Photo Gallery duplicate my folders and photos?

When my sd card was in my Fascinate (Galaxy "S1"), I had My Pictures with several folders to keep everything straight. I moved to card to my S3, and now I show duplicates in my phone memory.

Is this a setting that I can turn off? Are these really duplicates, or just "artifacts"? If I delete them from phone memory, will they also delete from the card?

I'm having the same problem and I cannot delete anything either, or cut n paste onto pc! Its a propa head bust lol
